Where is the CBM Conference Europe held?
CBM Conference Europe is held at the Crowne Plaza Antwerp Hotel in Antwerp, Belgium. The Crowne Plaza is one of the friendliest, most comfortable and easiest to reach hotels in the city. Offering 262 contemporary rooms, as well as a pool and wellness center, and a bar and restaurant, the Crowne Plaza has everything you need for an exceptional stay. The entire event will be held onsite at the hotel and we have even managed to get attendees a reduced nightly rate. Please note, that this is not included in the ticket price. The Crowne Plaza is located around 30 minutes from Antwerp’s main airport, 10 minutes from the city’s historical center and is surrounded by a number of beautiful parks.
Antwerp is Belgium’s second city and its largest port, but it is the country’s capital of culture. As a port, it was one of Europe’s most important cities during the Renaissance period and was home to painter Pieter Rubens. The city has a pulsating medieval heart, complete with cobbled streets and historic centuries-old buildings and churches, including a riverside fortress. Today, the city has an incredibly vibrant fashion, arts and entertainment scene, and guests will be able to shop until they drop in the city’s arcades after the conference.
When is CBM Conference Europe held?
We hold the CBM Conference Europe conference annually in June. For reference, the 2019 conference will be held between Monday 3 June and Thursday 6 June. At this time of the year, the weather is pleasant in Antwerp. You can expect an average of 59°F or 15°C, with highs of 20°C. Rainfall is relatively sparse, too, with an average of just 2.7 inches/70mm of rain in June. This makes it the perfect time to enjoy the city before, during and after the conference, without getting the worst of Europe’s heat nor its biting cold.
What you should know about attending CBM Conference Europe
If you are thinking of attending CBM Conference Europe, there are several things you should know before you leave. The first is that there are two types of tickets to purchase. Both offer you access to the full duration of the conference, but one offers a bonus day that includes a reliability workshop and a plant tour. This, in effect, gives you an additional day at the conference as it is all based in Antwerp. The second thing is that your ticket entitles you to full access to the event, all of the speeches and a welcome gift, and access to the exhibition hall. On top of this, attendees receive a continental breakfast each morning, as well as refreshment breaks, lunch and dinner with entertainment in the evening. Wifi will also be available for free at the hotel for the duration of the event. The ticket does not include accommodation at the hotel, nor does it include travel expenses. We have been able to secure a special deal to stay at the Crowne Plaza where the event is being hosted, but you are not required to stay there. We recommend that all attendees wear business or business casual attire for the duration of the conference. Finally, if you have any special requirements or dietary needs, please make them known to our team well in advance of the conference.
Earn certifications at CBM Conference Europe
At the CBM Conference Europe, we don’t just offer attendees the opportunity to network, learn about new technologies and innovations and hear the thoughts of industry leaders, we also offer attendees the opportunity to improve themselves through certifications. Currently, we offer attendees of CBM Conference Europe to take ARP, CMRP, CMRT, ICML and Accredited ISO Vibration Analyst Certification exams at the conference.
ARP Certification
Practitioners and leaders involved with the important role of improving the reliability and performance of an industrial facility should be recognized for their knowledge, experience, and contribution. The Mobius Institute Asset Reliability Practitioner (ARP) certification scheme will recognize the knowledge and basic experience of people at three levels; the Advocate who contributes to the initiative, the Reliability Engineer, and the Leader of the program. In addition, the certification scheme separately recognizes reliability engineers and leaders who have proven competence.
CMRP Certification
The Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional program is the leading credential for reliability, maintenance and asset management professionals. It is the only industry certification program accredited by the American National Standards Institute, which follows ISO standards.
CMRT Certification
The Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician program is the leading credential for reliability and maintenance technicians. Earning this certification proves your skills in preventive, predictive and critical maintenance.
ICML Certification
The International Council for Machine Lubrication is a not-for-profit, vendor neutral organization focused on the growth and development of machine lubrication as a field of technical endeavor. As part of this, the organization offers a certification for individuals in machine condition monitoring, oil analysis, and lubrication.
Accredited ISO Vibration Analyst Certification
This certification is provided by the Mobius Institute Board of Certification and is ISO accredited. If you are a Vibration Analyst who has completed training at ISO I, II, III or IV level with an approved training provider, the Mobius Institute Board of Certification will conduct ISO certification exams at the CBM Conference Europe.
Sponsor CBM Europe
We welcome sponsorship at CBM Europe. If you would like to sponsor the event, please get in touch with our team, the details of how can be found on the sponsorship page.

Other CBM Events
IMVAC offer a number of other conference locations throughout the year. If you can’t make our conference in Europe because of the destination or the dates, perhaps you are available to attend our conferences in America, Asia or Australia. The American version of our conference has been going since 2016, is based in Orlando, Florida, and is the largest vibration and condition monitoring conference on the planet. Our Australian conference is located on the Gold Coast and has been going since 2017. The latest addition to the CBM event listings is our Middle East and Asian conference, which started in Dubai in 2017 and alternates annually between the UAE and Singapore. Each of these events provides all of the opportunities and experiences listed above. So, whichever event you attend, you’ll still get the same great CBM experience.
Who runs CBM Conference Europe?
CBM Conference is run by the Mobius Institute, a worldwide provider of reliability improvement, condition monitoring and precision maintenance education to plant managers, reliability engineers and condition monitoring technicians all over the world. With offices in Australia, America, Belgium, Costa Rica and India, the Mobius Institute offers easily understandable and comprehensive training in public, in plant and online, in addition to these fantastic conferences.

What You Get
|
Vibration Analysis is an excellent technique to identify machine faults through non-destructive testing. Variations in the narrowband vibration spectra can identify a wide range of fault conditions, the severity, and the change over time.
|
Or thermal imaging, is an affordable, easy to use technology that provides an image where pixel color is related to temperature. It can be used to detect electrical, process & mechanical faults.
|
|
|
Also known as ferrography, WPA is the microscopic study of wear-related particles suspended in lubricating oil & grease. Identification of particle shape and material type, can provide a very clear and early indication of specific faults.
|
Utilizing motor current measurements, and optionally voltage measurements it is possible to detect a range of faults in the supply voltage, in the stator, rotor, and termination box.
|
|
|
When friction (wear), turbulence and impacts occur, sounds are generated at frequencies above our hearing range. The ultrasound tools can detect these sounds in mechanical, electrical, and process applications.
|
Key to the life of bearings and gears, and thus the reliability of the machine. If the oil or grease is clean, dry, has the correct chemistry & is applied in the correct volume, those components will deliver trouble-free operation.
|
|
|
If the coupled-shafts are “collinear” (have no offset or angle between them) then the load on the shafts, coupling, seals, and bearings will be greatly reduced, thus maximizing their life.
|
If the rotor is properly balanced, the centrifugal forces will be kept to a minimum, and the machine and structure will suffer less stress and strain as a result, thus improving reliability.
